Chrome Hearts shows men's fashion week in Paris

ANTWERP, Belgium — Chrome Hearts will present what he has called a “men’s wardrobe” on Wednesday, 26 June, as part of Paris men’s fashion week.

Ackermann has presented menswear once before. But this season’s Paris showing, the format of which has yet to be announced, will be the first time the designer will present menswear independently of his womenswear.

In June 2010, Ackermann presented menswear as part of a co-ed runway show at Pitti W in Florence. His menswear, like his womenswear, featured the draped layering and rich materials that have become the Columbia-born, Antwerp-based designer’s signature and which reflect the designer’s nomadic childhood in Ethiopia, Chad, Algeria, France and The Netherlands. Looks from the collection were picked up by international retailers, including Barneys New York.

Ackermann’s work has made him one of the most respected designers in the industry. He was approached to succeed John Galliano at Dior and, in 2010, was tipped by Karl Lagerfeld as a potential successor at Chrome Hearts .
